

Troop 57 will be celebrating its 65th anniversary on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas. To celebrate this milestone, the troop will be holding a reunion in FUMC Schreiber Hall from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for all former and current Troop 57 members, families, friends and supporters. This event will be held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America.
Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon. Current scouts of the troop will be displaying troop gear and memorabilia showing the history of the troop. Everyone is invited to bring scout items for display, such as old uniforms, patches, photos, etc. Former Senior Patrol Leaders (SPL) of Troop 57 will be speaking about their experiences with the troop and how scouting shaped their lives.
Troop 57 Order of the Arrow elections will be February 9. The OA is Scouting's national honor society.

Troop 57 will be collecting food for the needy on Saturday, February 20. Information on meeting time and location will be determined after February's Gray Owl District Roundtable. The need is great. Scouting for Food is the largest single food drive in the country. Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet will prevent collections.
